    What this is

A comparison platform, not an admission agency

UniversityWalah is a comparison and guidance platform for online and distance degrees in India. We list only universities that hold current UGC-DEB entitlement, score them on more than 30 factors, and put a salaried advisor on the phone with you who has no target to hit.

The platform exists because the alternative is unusable. Search for an online MBA and you get pages ranked by whoever paid most, headline fees that leave out the exam charges, and a callback from someone paid a commission on the university they push hardest. None of that helps you choose.

    What we do

    • Check every listing against the official UGC-DEB entitlement list each session
    • Publish total programme cost, including exam and re-registration charges
    • Score universities on the same 30+ factors and show the reasoning
    • Put you on a call with a salaried advisor within about ten minutes
    • Help with the application, documents and fee structure at no charge
    • Chase your university when results, refunds or documents go quiet

    What we never do

    • Sell your phone number or email to universities or third-party agents
    • Rank a university higher because it pays more — the referral fee is flat
    • Charge you a platform fee, a processing fee or a consultation fee
    • List a university whose entitlement has lapsed, however well known it is
    • Publish testimonials supplied by a university's marketing team
    • Tell you an online degree is right for you when it plainly is not

    How we make money

Free for you, flat for everyone else

Every platform in this category says it is unbiased. The only thing worth reading is how the money moves, so here it is in full.

    • Learners pay us nothing, ever

You pay the university its standard published fee, exactly what you would pay applying directly. Nothing is added for using this platform, and there is no fee at any later stage either.

    • Universities pay a flat referral fee

When someone enrols through the platform, that university pays a fixed amount. It is the same amount for every university on the list, agreed in advance and not negotiable per admission.

    • Flat is what makes advice honest

Because the fee does not change with the university you choose, no advisor earns more by steering you. That is a structural fix, not a promise — it removes the incentive rather than asking you to trust that we resist it.

    • Advisors are salaried, with no targets

Career Development Advisors are full-time employees on a fixed salary. They carry no admission quota and no per-university incentive, so a call that ends in "do a regular programme instead" costs them nothing.

If an advisor ever suggests otherwise, that is a breach of how this company is set up — tell us at info@universitywalah.com.

    The comparison

    What "30+ factors" actually means

A number in a marketing line is worth nothing unless you can see what is in it. Here is the whole framework, grouped.

    • Approvals and standing

      • UGC-DEB entitlement for the current session
      • AICTE approval where the programme needs it
      • NAAC grade and NIRF position
      • AIU equivalence for further study
      • Whether the degree names the delivery mode
    • Real cost

      • Total programme fee, not the semester figure
      • Examination fees per term
      • Re-registration and continuation charges
      • No-cost EMI terms and the actual interest if any
      • Scholarships and the conditions attached
    • Teaching and platform

      • Live, recorded or both
      • LMS speed, mobile app quality and downloads
      • Faculty contact hours and doubt sessions
      • Study material format and when it is released
      • Accessibility and language support
    • Exams and results

      • Remotely proctored or centre-based
      • Nearest exam centre and its reliability
      • Backlog and re-attempt rules
      • How long results actually take
      • What happens when results are delayed
    • Outcomes

      • Placement drives run for online learners specifically
      • Recruiters that hire from the programme
      • Reported salary movement after finishing
      • Alumni network access
      • Employer recognition in your sector
    • Support

      • Response time on the university helpdesk
      • Document and transcript turnaround
      • Refund and withdrawal terms
      • Escalation route when things stall
      • Verified student reviews on all of the above

    How we got here

Four changes that made the advice trustworthy

Not a founding myth — the specific decisions that removed the incentive to mislead you.

    1. 2019

      Started as a comparison sheet

A spreadsheet of approved universities and their real total fees, shared with anyone who asked. The sheet answered the question no university website would.

    2. 2021

      Advisors put on salary

Commission-based counselling was dropped entirely. Advisors moved to fixed pay with no admission targets, and the referral fee was flattened across universities.

    3. 2023

      Scoring opened up

The 30+ factor framework was published alongside every score, so a learner can see why one university ranked above another rather than taking the order on trust.

    4. Today

      1.2 Lakh+ learners guided

100+ UGC-DEB approved universities on the platform, 600+ Career Development Advisors, and an escalation desk that follows up after enrolment.

    On the platform

    The universities we compare

Every one of them holds current UGC-DEB entitlement. None of them can pay to move up the list.

Privacy, terms and what we are not

Written to be read rather than to be scrolled past.

    Privacy

We collect only what an advisor needs to help you: name, email, phone number, the course you are considering and any preference you tell us. We do not buy contact lists and we do not sell yours.

Your details go to one Career Development Advisor. They are shared with a university only when you ask us to submit an application there, and never with third-party agents or lead brokers. Analytics on this site are aggregate and are not linked to your enquiry.

You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, or delete it entirely by writing to the contact address in the footer. Deletion requests are actioned rather than acknowledged and ignored.

    Terms of use

Using this site means you accept that the information here is provided to help you compare, not as a guarantee of admission, fee, scholarship or outcome. Admission decisions belong to the university alone.

Fees, programme structures, approvals and eligibility rules are set by universities and change without notice to us. We re-check listings each session, but the university's own current communication is the authoritative source and should be confirmed in writing before you pay.

Content, scoring methodology and page copy on this site belong to UniversityWalah. University names and logos belong to the respective institutions and appear here for identification.

    Disclaimer

UniversityWalah is not a university and does not award degrees, grant admission or issue certificates. We are an independent comparison and guidance platform.

Scores and rankings on this site are our own assessment against a published set of factors. They are opinion, formed from stated criteria, and reasonable people can weigh those factors differently.

Fee ranges shown are indicative programme totals gathered from university sources and may exclude charges billed separately. Always confirm the current figure, the approval status and the exam pattern with the university before making a payment.

Put all of this to the test on a call

Ask the advisor which university pays us more. The answer is none of them, and you should hear it from a person rather than a page.
